D.I.Y. R.I.P.

The goal of this instruction set is to guide my family and friends in the creation of the three primary elements of my funeral:.

  1. Making Gun Powderly
  2. Building an Explosive Near Craft
  3. Executing the Funeral Performance

Gun Powderly

Gun powderly consists of an explosive compound made from a number of common chemicals and the cremated ashes of my body.

Step 1:

To turn my body into ash, I want to be incinerated (cremated), naked, and ground to fine powder, as is traditional in western cremation.

This should produce about 5 lbs (2.27 kilograms) of relatively fine ash and small bone fragments, with a rough chemical composition approximating this:

  • Phosphate 47.5%
  • Calcium 25.3%
  • Sulfate 11.00%
  • Potassium 3.69%
  • Sodium 1.12%
  • Chloride 1.00%
  • Silica 0.09%
  • Magnesium 0.418%
  • Plus Aluminum oxide, Iron Oxide, Zinc,Titanium Oxide, Barium, Antimony, Chromium, Copper, Manganese, Lead, Tin, and Vanadium in much smaller quantities
  • Beryllium and Mercury will be present in minute quantities
Step 2:

Make a large quantity (approximately 10 pounds) of gunpowder (also known as black powder) in small batches of less that 2 ounces at a time. Gunpowder is:

%75 potasium nitrate
%10 sulfur
%15 charcoal

Potasium nitrate (KNO3) can be purchased in pure form online at places like United Nuclear. It can also be made naturally from the bat guano (shit) or other forms of nitrate rich material.

Sulfur (atomic number 16) is an elemental compound that can be found in nature, purchsed online or distilled from natural mineral deposits. It is also commonly found in a less pure form in your local gardening store.

Charcoal can also be found readily in nature, purchsed online, at your local gardening store or produced easily by burning wood.

Each of these materials should be crushed and ground separately to a fine consistency and then combined. You can crush and combine these materials using a pestle and mortar or a ball mill grinder or by using the CIA precipitation method. However you make it make sure to store your black powder in plastic containers in a safe place, dry place away from open flames.

This video will give you more information on how to produce gunpowder:

Step 3:

Combine my ashes with the gunpowder slowly in small batches: 1 oz of powderly to 2 oz of gunpowder. Use a ball mill to thoroughly combine and refine the two mixtures. Add 1/4 ounce of magnesium powder, which can be purchased at United Nuclear, and gently and carefully continue milling it until the three mixtures a fully combined and have turned an even grey color.
