Super Cholita Rising
Super Cholita is a fffffemale super hero from Bolivia. Her boyfriend is a cop, she steals potatoes to give it to the ones that can’t afford the crisis, swears like no one and fly over bolivian skies, thanks to her powerfull cholita dress. Popular bolivian class call her “supercholis”. They like her because she is normal like them …but with some extra features, meant to empower the popular mass. Super Cholita is proud of her roots, she eats lots of “chuño” but also, she really digs all things japanese.
The media discovered “supercholis” today and seems that she wants to hit the international market with her mash-up of manga-latino and good intentions to help Evo Morales.
Other notable super heroes from down below the Empire:
Super Barrio, also featured in SUPER AMIGOS, a feature length documentary that follows 5 modern-day Super Heroes in Mexico City as they fight for social justice and human rights.
TIME again for G.R.L….

James Snyder did a nice little write up and video piece about the G.R.L. for time.com. I wanted to throw him some shine because besides doing his research he managed to link to examples of our work (outside of time.com) 10 times in the course of one article! It drives me crazy when I read online news articles about things which exist on the internet but don’t get linked up because they are not on the organizations server (NYT for example is apparently unaware of how to use the href tag). The href is a wonderful thing. And since Theo continually gets left out of the story I thought I’d atone with some href love:

Obama Girl + FFFFFat
F@’s very own Internet FFFFFamous crew profiling with iCeleb Obama Girl. If Obama wins by anythings less then 6.1 million votes (currently the number views on her youtube video) then he should definitely make her VP.
If you’re in New York tune into NBC at 6:20am on Tuesday, Feb. 19th to see the full report. Photos from the shoot at Parsons w/ Internet Famous the class all star students up here.
TIME on G.R.L.

Time.com did an article about our GRL Hong Kong adventures w/ MC YAN. They did a nice job, but I would like to go on record here and say that our friend Paul Notzold does not use L.A.S.E.R. Tag…. in fact I’m pretty sure he despises it.
GRL in Esquire (the 2007 Genius Issue)

Denzel Washington is on the cover, but if you flip past a few cologne ads, you’ll find a whole other crew of debonair studs on page 218. It’s a two page spread; How To Make Your Own Graffiti Research Lab. Written by GRL, lettering by Bennett4$enate, and stupid-fresh, subliminal-message-laden illustrations by none other than Mr. Robert F. Houlihan III. Available for you to cop at local newsstands, or get the PDF right here. Web version here.
Laser Tag in Modart

Laser Tag is featured in the latest issue of Modart Magazine. The article is “Windows and Wallpapering: Questions about Art, Technology and Poetic Interference” by Elizabeth Haines. Also mentioned in the article are GRL homies and collaborators Steve Lambert and Krzysztof Wodiczko (aka K-Dubs). The mag also has a big spread on GRL affiliate Mark Jenkins.
Space Craft

Graffiti Research Lab featured in a new Die Gestalten published book titled Space Craft: Fleeting Architecture and Hideouts.
