TIME again for G.R.L….

James Snyder did a nice little write up and video piece about the G.R.L. for time.com. I wanted to throw him some shine because besides doing his research he managed to link to examples of our work (outside of time.com) 10 times in the course of one article! It drives me crazy when I read online news articles about things which exist on the internet but don’t get linked up because they are not on the organizations server (NYT for example is apparently unaware of how to use the href tag). The href is a wonderful thing. And since Theo continually gets left out of the story I thought I’d atone with some href love:

  • Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!! Theo Watson wrote the Laser Tag Software!!!!!!!!!

  • … Oh, and Zach wrote some of it too.

  • Flash-Movies aren’t Net Art

I shouted out the F@Labs in a interview about net.art

It’s kind of a provocatie title, I only mentioned that flash-movies aren’t net art, as most of them only need the medium for distribution, not for existance. They could be played on a DVD-player…

Here’s the PDF with the whole article (4 Pages, in german)

    “Get your fame on”

Jamie, Evan, James and students from the Parsons Internet Famous course turn internet fame into real world fame….. sort of. Peep the photos here. Big ups to Shannon and Dan taking part.

    I Always Feel Like…

    … Somebody’s Watching Me.

On February 11th, 2008, the GRL’s Rotterdam LASER Tag video roared past 1 million views at the resolution of the proletariat, i.e. YouTube. Now, officially, we’re Internet Platinum brah! Even these fucks agree. SO where’s my spinnin’ crown animated gif badge for the website!? Wasn’t someone supposed to be making that just for this occasion? Heads should roll I swear to god. Look at the weak-ass crowns you made me hot link to:

GRL in Street Art Magazine (UK)

Computer Arts Projects in the UK just did a special ‘how to’ magazine on “Graffiti in the Digital Age”. GRL was the featured profile and I wrote a how to for Laser Tag 2.0 which they butchered quite hard in the editing process. Apparently it needs at least a 5mW projector : )

Please excuse the crappy pdf quality. I didn’t feel like making any more effort than this. Enjoy!

    TIME 4 FFFFFAT

TIME apparently has got nothing but love for FFFFFAT.

  • Today the Internet Famous Course (taught by FFFFFAT representative JDubbs, Snowman, and YT) was on the front page page of the TIMES.com Buisness and Tech section. (Digg that shit).

  • And half way around the world G.R.L. and MC Yan continue to get up on the pages of the print version of TIME with the following article (full res here):
