Occupy The Internet
Are you a “webmaster”, admin, blog owner or someone with access to index.html files? Are you interested in taking part in the recent global wave of revolution from the comfort of your home computer?
Add the animated GIF army to websites you control (or can get control of) by pasting the following code into any HTML file:

АНИМИРОВАННЫЙ ГИФ MASHUP (Animated Gif Mashup) is the result of spending one afternoon in a loft in St. Petersburg with a group of people listening to rap music and surfing Russian websites for animated gifs. The event was hosted by International Art-Forum St. Petersburg and created using Animated Gif Mashup (source code available here). Documentation of the screening is here (worth it for the vodka chug if nothing else).
Thanks to International Art-Forum St. Petersburg (Grafffest), CEC ArtsLink, the US Consulate in St. Petersburg and all the participants.
HOW-TO: Animate Your Twitter Avatar
Pimp your Twitter avatar. Make it animated.
Updated 23 Feb 2011: Twitter hack now allows for larger animated avatars (128×128 pixel dimensions)!
Instructions (Easy):
Find your imagery (or use 3fram.es to make an animated GIF and save to your computer).Upload your animated GIF to be resized:Download the resized image and upload to your Twitter profile!Click ‘Upload to Twitter’ to automatically have your avatar image changed!
Twitter has disabled this app from using their API due to a violation of their Terms of Service (without mentioning what specifically was in violation). You will need to download and upload to Twitter manually.
Instructions (Advanced):
Find your imagery (or use 3fram.es to make an animated GIF).Import your animated GIF into Photoshop (details), or create your animation from still frames.Resize your image to a 48×48 (the secret dimensions!).‘Save for Web’ as a GIF, tweak your colors, and save.Upload to your Twitter profile!
Note: Animated image URLs are validly returned in the Twitter API, however some apps may not animate your GIFs.
