SelfControl
Is email a distraction? SelfControl is an OS X application which blocks access to incoming and/or outgoing mail servers and websites for a predetermined period of time. For example, you could block access to your email, facebook, and twitter for 90 minutes, but still have access to the rest of the web. Once started, it can not be undone by the application or by restarting the computer – you must wait for the timer to run out.
Free software under the GPL. Here’s the code.

It works… perhaps too well
Brilliant, I was actually just thinking of starting the same a day or so before you posted this on here :) Finally tried it, but the binary version that you put online doesn’t seem to work (doesn’t even start) on my Mac OS 10.4.11 machine – gonna try and build it from the source now.
it’s 10.5+ but play with the code if you want to make a version compatible with 10.4… or upgrade…

I’m guessing “edit blacklist” is where you add sites.
I did that, but I can still use them? Perhaps I’m adding them wrong… don’t really understand the “import” part
@anonymouse – you guessed right. Import is to import your mail servers from your mail program. Your browser might be caching the sites.
